HASH has bounced back from his first defeat when he lost to VIP stablemate Joe Howarth in March 2024.
Both men deserve immense credit for taking the fight at three days' notice, and VIP boss Steve Wood is backing Rehman to get his career back on track quickly. Rehman was back in July and although he dropped Ramiro Garcia Lopez in the first round, he was dragged into a battle before winning 57-56.
He made a cracking start to his professional career in October 2021 at Hull’s packed Bonus Arena. He wasn’t matched easy but came through against former Ghanaian Lightweight Champion Benjamin Lamptey, winning 40-36 after four good rounds.
‘The Hammer’ effortlessly moved to 2-0 on VIP Boxing’s first show of 2022 in February when he outpointed Londoner Lee Devine.
His third win in July 2022 was his first with new trainer Matthew Hatton, and he comfortably outpointed Josh Cook.
‘The Hammer’ stepped up to six-round level in February 2023 and passed that test in style, outpointing tricky Cockney southpaw Lee Hallett. Work commitments meant he left Hatton and joined Sean O’Hagan, where he could train in the evening.
O’Hagan was absent because of Maxi Hughes' fight in Oklahoma against George Kambosos when Rehman tackled Clayton Bricknell in Wakefield in July 2023. The fight was cut down to four rounds, but Rehman came through against decent opponent Bricknell, winning on points.
There was another home city fight for Hash in November, and he had few problems outscoring Jake Osgood over four rounds. That win set up a December 9 showdown in Bolton against another unbeaten VIP-promoted boxer, Joe Kavanagh.
Rehman studied at university and holds a degree in Chemical Engineering.
